Teagan's 1st Birthday

Teagan turned 1 a couple of weeks ago. We were hoping to go down to Riverton because Les' family was having a reunion that week, but Les wasn't able to get the weekend off so we stayed home and had a small little party for him. The reunion was at the lake so I found a lake cake and I made it for him anyway even though we didn't go to the lake. We set up a little pool and sprinklers and the kids had fun getting wet.

Teagan William De Vries

Teagan was born July 17, 2009
I went to the hospital at 5:00 that morning for my scheduled c-section and he was born about 7:30. He weighed 7 lbs 9 oz and was 21" long
His oxygen levels were low when he was born. He had a bowl movement in utero and swallowed some of it. He had to be on oxygen for about 20 hours.
Alauna is a proud big sister!
Teagan gets to go home! July 19, 2009

Catching Up

I haven't posted in awhile. Life has been crazy. I thought that when tax season was over and I wasn't working two jobs, I would have more time. No, life is still crazy and we are trying hard to get our house ready for our new baby. Les has been working quite a bit more now down at Fort Hall and he is busy getting his certifications done so that he can go on some forest fires this summer.

Alauna is still loving preschool, only one more week and she will be done. We still need to get her last immunization done so we can finish registering her for Kindergarten. I can't believe she will be in kindergarten already. We put her in softball this year. Yesterday was her first practice. She has a good arm and was the fastest one on her team to run the bases. She also hit the ball really good. It will be fun to watch her this summer.

I know this is old, but here is what we have been doing these past couple of months

My mom and my brother Nick came up for a few days in March, my parents bought Alauna a homemade dress with a matching bag, and a neckless

We celebrated Nick's 19th Birthday while he was up here. He wanted brownies instead of cake, so we had brownie sundae's for his birthday. Alauna and I were both pretty sick when they were visiting and the day after Nick's birthday he caught it. Poor kid, not exactly what he wanted for his birthday. Sorry Nick

The first weekend in April we went to Riverton for Les' family's Easter Egg hunt they put on every year, usually the weekend before Easter. While we were there Les' brother David blessed their baby boy Trysten.

Launa hunting for Easter eggs

Alauna and her cousins, Breanna, Kaylee, and Brailee. Les has five brothers and one sister. His parents have 20 grandchildren and of those 20 only 5 are girls. Meghan is the only one missing.

My brother Stuart came to visit for a few days during Easter before heading to Riverton for the rest of his leave from the marines. He is now in Afganistan. Alauna says some of the funniest things. She told me that she wanted to go home with uncle Stuart. I told her that she couldn't because uncle Stuart was going to war along ways away. She then got excited and said "I want to go to war with uncle Stuart." I don't think she knows what war is.

Alauna'a 5th Birthday

Alauna's Birthday was last Wednesday, the 4th of March. I can't believe she is 5 years old already. For her birthday I got off of work early and after she got off the bus from school, I took her to Walmart to pick out a Birthday cake. She insisted on having the Tinker Bell cupcakes, and I tried to get her to pick something that had the whipped topping, but she insisted on Tinker Bell. Luckily the lady at the bakery let me pick a blank whipped topping cake and she put the Tinker Bell decorations on it and personalized it for her, so we were both happy. The Tinker Bell decorations just happened to have 5 Rings with it, and she turned 5 years old. Then we went and got some flowers and balloons. Later that night we went over to my aunt Rachel's house for cake and ice cream and of course to open presents. Afterwards she wanted to watch her new Barbie Diamond Castle movie, much to Les' dismay. He was a good sport and sat down and watched it with us. Then she watched it over and over again for the next few days. Les wanted to throw it away.

It's a Boy!

I had an ultra sound and some blood work done on Tuesday. It looks like we are definately having a boy! We took Alauna with us to help her get used to the idea that we are actually having a baby this time. She was really excited to see the baby on the TV and was really interested until the Tech told us that we're having a boy. She got really upset after that and started crying. She had no interest in watching the rest of the ultra-sound and on the way home she said "mom I really, really, really, want a baby girl." I asked her if she was still going to help me with the baby and she said "No, I 'm only going to help my baby sister." So now about 5 days later, she has gotten used to the idea of having a brother and she is ok with it now. I'm sure she is going to be a big helper.

Baby on the Way!

So I finally went to the doctor on the 20th of January. She found a good strong heart beat of 167! Les and I were so excited, especially when she told us that now that we could hear an external heart beat the chances of miscarriage are very slim. I will be going in to get some tests done sometime in the next couple of weeks. Since I have had so many miscarriages my doctor wants to do some tests to see if I have any conditions that will need to be treated during my pregnancy. She thinks that I may have a condition where my body needs extra folic acid to develop the baby. She said that it is really common here in south east Idaho and that I have all of the signs, having a baby to full term, her heart rate dropping when I went in to get induced and having to have a c-section, then miscarriage after miscarriage. We will find out in a couple of weeks and I will also be getting an ultra sound to make sure the baby is doing ok. Les and I decided that we are going to find out what we are having this time.
